Options
AKI-2 and Toolmanager

The combination of Zünd automatic tool initialization (AKI-2) and Tool Manager makes Zünd cutters incredibly easy to operate.

Automating tool setup and initialization, the AKI-2 allows the operator to quickly, easily, and reliably set up each tool and eliminate the danger of accidentally cutting too deep. Relevant tool setting are stored in the tool manager, and unless reset, can be recalled at any time, facilitating switching between different tools. AKI-2 works for most tool options Zünd offers.

Partmaker

Textiles, patterns, other cut parts sometimes need to be coded or marked.

Using a regular plotter pen insert (attached to most Zünd tool heads) for this application is feasible but often quite slow, especially in comparison to cutting. A much more efficient alternative is the high-speed inkjet part marking system.  It also offers greater flexibility in the materials that can be printed.

Laserpointer

The Zünd laser pointer is an excellent, low-cost tool for positioning to a reference point. This option is available for all new, and as upgrade to all existing, Zünd tool heads. Applications for this option can be found mostly in textile, packaging, and graphics cutting.

Upgradeable for all Zünd machines.

Edge sensor

Visual alignment cannot beat the precision, convenience, and reliability of the Zünd edge sensor. In conjunction with software designed for this purpose, it can recognize even marginal contrasts and differences in material thicknesses.

The edge sensor is used primarily in applications that require locating the edges of preprinted materials for cutting in registration (but without the need for the level of automation and compensation capabilities provided by camera-guided registration systems). The edge sensor requires special software that can handle this capability.
